A night on Kizmia Island

 76 Summer 549 (26 March 2003)

  • The last zordiacs were pretty busy as you saw in my last updates. By now I am a bit resting, and there is time to tell about some big journey I was happy to parcitipate. It was a summer day like everyone else so far - I was getting some pertly sprigins near the tree giant breeding grounds or had some fierce battles at lily pond. (By the way, lots of thanks for the rescue *blush* 8)

Usual business first...
  • As it turned dark and night was still young I was contacted by Talin if I wanted to join a night KI raid! Wooh! Believe it or not, I never been inside KI before. But I had heard a lot of stories and hoped to have an opportunity to go there myself soon. It was a very nice group gathered by Jade and everything was very exiting! Of course I fell within the first five seconds after entering that narrow gap which gives access to the island. *chuckle*.

Welcome to Kizmia!
  • We had a bad start, but Natas had no trouble to clear the way for us, so our group could recover safely. With some careful scouting and slow progress we started to explore the island snell by snell without much difficulty. Soon I also witnessed how useful the catsbane necklaces are - Zhirem was almost infected with the lyfe disease. Yuk. Lets be thankful for the modern medizine! 8)

On the other side for the first time!
  • Being the newbie on that trip I had to learn a lot - like proper tactics about the hordes of lyfes and the optimal route to all the important spots. I certainly liked to see Fat Alices hut from the other side! Kinda weird to have crossed that boundry at last...
I knew already that you can only leave the island by boat which needs to be built first. The required materials include two logs of wood and a barrel of tar. So we went to some nasty smelling tar pit hidden beyond two flashy statues, where we could fill our barrels. Next we had to find our trees (a special one for each profession and species) in which hidden tunnels brought us all to the northern part of the isle.

Display of art, lots of furs, and a whirlpool!
Now there was the worst part. In order to proceed we all had to jump into some ice cold pool of water. Yikes! That was not fun! I was whirled around several times and became all soaked and miserable. It took me days to get dry again. There seems to be a lot of bridge building on that island - I propose to start one there!
Well, beyond the pool there was a scarmis hive which was nicely protected. And when you take not great care then there is the danger to fall down underground which might be unpleasant. I skipped that experience 8)

Yikes! There are scarmis there?
  • Soon we reached the northern shores, where we found a blue thoom Wyeth who offered to build boats for us. Because we were all well prepared we could leave KI shortly after. On leaving the first time I was rewarded with a whole rank! (On top of the few others I made inside 8) Yay, and not to mention all the coins... thank you Miss Skea! And of course big thanks to the group who took me with them - I will be ready for a next time. 8)

Going home with another rank! Har!
