 48 Autumn 548 (12 January 2003)

• Newsflash! I am right back from a huge battle! As I stumbled out of the library that evening I heard all the sounds of war from the sea!
  It looked like the dreaded darshak had assembled a huge fleet to wipe us out for once and for all! As usual Centaur isle became our hospital and command post. Folks that dared to enter the Ash isle bay to deal some damage were brought back to be raised all the time... Pfew!

Something big seems to be going on...

• I dared to enter the bay too, only to find that most of the warships were down already. That was fine with me, as you know, I don't really like fights on water...*chuckle*. Still I helped to sink two warships and one corsair!

• Once the bay was cleared we gathered up to fight the crawling mass at the beach! This proved to be quite simple. Within seconds all resistance was there eradicated! 8)

Come on, this is all your resistance?

• However, the simple part was over now. We rushed into the horde to find it full of darshak! (No wonder, there 8). But as I was a bit confused from all the flaming action around me, I fell out to the south into the darshak outpost. To my amazement I was greeted by a greater death! Yikes! Mr. Necro (evil darkshak priest) pulled me back into the horde then and sent two more of the dreaded things to us!

I found something that I shouldn't...*blush*

• That put us in some unfortunate position. All rescue attempts quickly failed because of the flying skulls. Mr. Necro just laughed at us and conjured even one more greater death. We had now four guarding us. Oh fun! Then all of us got sick and turned into squished undine! Luckily that effect wore off after some minutes...
  Another rescue run proved to be more effective! Yay to Frucy and the others who did a great job at chaining!

Yikes! Necro did something bad to us...

• For some reason some of the greater deaths vanished soon after - perhaps someone was able to kill Necro at last? But the one left caused still enough trouble. We formed a line of fallens to trap him and Gurgi added some kudzu. That kept the GD at bay and all other exiles were raised at last. The winning move was done by Aldernon (Bloodblader with some expertise) who got it down to red with a single hit. Some well placed luck hits from the others finished it then. Yay! It took us a while, but we got some happy end! A lot of thanks to all folks who helped and sorry for all departs that invasion caused.

Yay!!! First we trapped it and then finished it!
